On November 30, 2010, “Ilyushin Finance Co.” (IFC) leasing company delivered the sixth regional An-148 jet to GTK “Rossiya” air company
The delivery marked successful completion of the first contract on new jets supply in contemporary history of the Russian air industry. This December will be 1 year since GTK “Rossiya” introduced An-148 into operation and the newest jets started carrying passengers.
The celebration was cancelled due to non-flying weather and the jet was delivered by IFC’s and GTK “Rossiya”’s technical services.
An-148 assembled in Russia was first demonstrated at “MAX-2009” Air Salon in August 2009. This aircraft is a unique development of Ukrainian and Russian aircraft designers. This is the only serial product introduced in production by the Russian air industry during the last 20 years. The aircraft was certified in accordance with the Russian AP-25 specifications harmonized with the European CS-25. Development of An-148 took only 6 years, this is the shortest period for contemporary civil aviation.
An-148 is undoubtedly the most successful project of Open Joint-Stock Company “United Aircraft Corporation” (UAC). The aircraft can ensure continuous operation, first of all, to Russian air companies. 158 Russian companies and over 45 thousand qualified experts are engaged in production, jointly with Ukrainian enterprises.
